WELCOME

POKÉMON EPICA is an epic spin on the traditional formula we know and love -- the adventures and adrenaline, the discoveries and delights, and the myths and legends come to life. We're statless, flexible and diverse, based across all six main-series regions post-game, and draw some inspiration from the anime, manga and spin-offs. Canons are encouraged and all sorts of OCs are welcome.

Viridian is known as the city of evergreen for the forests that surround it; it houses the region's toughest Gym. Situated near a coastal inlet in Kanto's northeast is Cerulean, where challengers can find the Water Gym. Vermilion is Kanto's port and has the Electric Gym. The Grass Gym can be found in Celadon, as can various attractions such as the Department Store and Game Corner. At the heart of Kanto is its biggest, busiest city, Saffron; it includes Silph Co, the Fighting Dojo, Magnet Train Station, and the Psychic Gym.

Pallet is the spacious rural town where many trainers begin their journey; Professor Oak's laboratory is located here. Pewter is the quiet city nestled beside the mountains, where the Rock Gym and Science Museum can be found. Lavender is known for its hauntings, probably due to its tower, which was utilised as a graveyard before being replaced by Kanto's Radio Tower. And Fuchsia, the coastal city in the far south, is home to the Poison Gym, Pokemon Zoo and Pokemon Safari.

Viridian Forest is deep, dark and sprawling, a natural maze that is easy to get lost in. Mount Moon must be travelled through rather than climbed; it got its name from the frequent meteorites that fall and transform into Moon Stones. Only extremely strong trainers are allowed into Cerulean Cave, which is said to house 'horribly strong' Pokemon and is where Mewtwo found solitude. Cinnabar Island is a ruin of what it once was after its volcano became active and destroyed the community that lived there. The Seafoam Islands are pair of islands with twisting, icy interiors where the Fire Gym was relocated. Victory Road & Indigo Plateau serve both Kanto and Johto -- the lengthy cave and Pokemon League challenge are the final test for trainers with all 8 badges of either region.

No New Posts Routes
The western routes comprise everywhere between east of Tohjo Falls, west of Mt Moon, and north of Cinnabar Island. The eastern routes are on or east of the dividing line formed by Cerulean and Saffron. The central routes are east of Cycling Road, Mt. Moon and the Seafoam Islands and stop roughly at the eastern dividing line. Hover over the subforums to see the route numbers and descriptions, and see this map for a visual representation. Cycling Road is the longest overworld path in Kanto, a seaside downwards slope that makes for a thrilling ride - bicycles and motorbikes only. The two Underground Passes cross beneath Saffron from north-south and east-west; they're dingy and abandoned. Diglett Tunnel is a natural underground excavation made by Diglett and Dugtrio that travels from Vermilion to Pewter.

No New Posts Sevii Islands
An archipelago of 7 populated islands and many uninhabited smaller ones. The first island is known as Knot Island; its features include Treasure Beach, the giant volcano Mt Ember, and the hot springs along Kindle Road. The second island, Boon Island, is small, but a trading post for foreign goods. The third island is called Kin Island, and has a very sleepy town to the east, connected to the lively Berry Forest by Bond Bridge. The fourth island is Floe Island, and features a Day Care plus the large Icefall Cave. Chrono Island is the fifth, and includes Resort Gorgeous, the confusing Lost Cave that traps unwary travellers for long periods, and an abandoned Rocket warehouse. The sixth island is named Fortune Island, and has a lot of interesting natural topography such as the Pattern Bush, Ruin Valley, and Outcast Island. The seventh and last is Quest Island; most of it has been left in its natural state and must be hiked across, such as the Sevault Canyon and the mysterious Tanoby Ruins.

Ecruteak is steeped in history and mythology, with the burnt ruins of the Brass Tower, Bell Tower where Ho-Oh sometimes perches, and the Ghost Gym. Olivine is Johto's port city, connecting to Kanto's Vermilion; it has the Glitter Lighthouse and Steel Gym. New Bark is the isolated starting town where the wind blows and tells of impending change; Professor Elm's lab is here. Cherrygrove is the small city where you can smell fragrant flowers and a sea breeze. Azalea is nestled between Ilex Forest and Union Cave; it is inhabited by Slowpoke from the nearby well, and has a charcoal kiln and the Bug Gym. Cianwood is the only Johto locale across the sea; it includes a specialist Pharmacy, a Photo Studio, and the Fighting Gym. Mahogany is a quiet, relaxed town that is said to be a hideout for ninjas. It has the Ice Gym, and a little shop that used to have a hidden entrance to a Team Rocket secret base.

The Ruins of Alph are an eerie series of chambers filled with Unown that can be accessed in various ways via Violet or Union Cave, often by solving puzzles. Ilex Forest seemed to be cloaked in eternal night, and has a shrine devoted to its legendary resident, Celebi. National Park is a picturesque commons where Bug-Catching contests are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The Pokeathlon Dome is a recreational facility where Pokemon can participate in fun activities, sports and competitions. Mt. Mortar is part of the large mountain ranges that dominate central Johto; it has a maze-like interior with majestic waterfalls. The Lake of Rage is said to have been created the last time many Gyarados got together and stirred up a storm, leaving a crater that filled with rainwater; lush labyrinthine forests surround it. Named after the dangerous whirlpools that surround them, the Whirl Islands are four islands between Olivine and Cianwood that are connected by a maze-like cavernous structure under the water's surface; Lugia is said to dwell here. Tohjo Falls are two waterfalls that separate Kanto and Johto; Giovanni once hid here. Mt. Silver is the final test for any trainer; the formidable mountain, from wild overgrown base to icy zenith, spells doom for anyone who is not prepared.

Petalburg is a lovely city where 'people mingle with nature'; it has the Normal Gym. Rustboro is a metropolis with an old-fashioned feel; here you'll find the Rock Gym, the Trainers' School, and the Devon Corporation. Slateport originally burgeoned from a local market and eventually added on a harbour; it has the Oceanic Museum and a shipyard. Mauville is a lively hub through which many travellers pass; notable features are the Electric Gym, the Game Corner, and Rydel's Cycles shop. Fortree consists of treehouses connected by a system of rope bridges that hang in the treetops; heavy rainfall lets the trees grow tall. The Flying Gym is found here. Lilycove is a large coastal city with many attractions: the Lilycove Museum, Cove Lily Motel, Grand Contest Hall, and Hoenn's Department Store.Mossdeep's island has clear weather which makes it ideal for rocket launches, which is why the Space Center was built here. It also has the Psychic Gym. Sootopolis is located around the hollowed, rainwater-filled crater of an underwater volcano; it has beautiful whitewashed buildings and houses the Water Gym. Ever Grande island is blanketed in flowers, has steep cliffs, and is bisected by Victory Road.

Littleroot is the secluded little town where trainers in Hoenn often start their journeys. Not much larger than Littleroot is Oldale; its motto is "Where things start off scarce". Dewford is a tiny island in the region's southwest; it has the Fighting Gym and the pitch-black Granite Cave. Verdanturf is a quaint, windswept town in the highlands that is known for its clean air. Fallarbor is a farming community that is surprisingly fertile thanks to all the volcanic ash that falls nearby. Lavaridge is located on the southern foot of Mt. Chimney; it is popular for its hot springs more so than its Fire Gym. Pacifidlog in the southern oceans is built on wooden rafts and logs that float on top of a Corsola colony; fishing and diving is a popular part of its lifestyle.

Petalburg Woods are smaller than many forests found in other regions, but equally winding, dark and abundant with wild Pokemon. Granite Cave on Dewford Island is full of rare Pokemon and rocky treasures. The Trick House is a zany residence with an ever-changing interior of complex puzzles created by the Trick Master. Mt. Chimney is a volcanic mountain that can be accessed by cable car; it frequently pours out soot and ash which cloak the surrounding routes. Groudon is said to slumber here. Meteor Falls is a vast geological wonder, a cave pockmarked with craters and with flowing water deep within. The Abandoned Ship is a rusted, partially-submerged vessel that may have once carried cargo or passengers. The Safari Zone is a special preserve full of non-Hoenn Pokemon available for capture. Mt. Pyre has countless gravestones, mourners and thrill-seekers in its interior, with a misty summit where the Blue and Red orbs are kept. Shoal Cave is heavily influenced by the changing tides, where one can only access the lower levels and deepest icy chamber when the tide is low. The Underwater Trenches stretch from north to south along much of Hoenn's eastern waters, accessible only by diving Pokemon, and the Seafloor Cavern is where Kyogre supposedly slumbers. Sky Pillar is a treacherous tower that pierces the high atmosphere, and Rayquaza often perches at the peak. Hoenn's version of Victory Road is a complex cavern with bridges leading across rock formations. The Battle Frontier is a sprawling area set on a distant island with seven main facilities specialising in different strategies; the very best battlers are in their element here.

Jubilife is Sinnoh's most modernised, technological city. It features the Poketch Company, the TV Station, and the Trainers' School. Oreburgh is a vibrant and energetic coal-mining town; they (surprise) have a coal museum, plus the Rock Gym. Eterna shows fading and almost-forgotten vestiges of ancient history. Its main features are the Grass Gym and a statue of Dialga & Palkia. Hearthome is a warm, friendly place that is very Pokemon- and child-friendly, with Amity Square, the Super Contest Hall, the Poffin bakehouse, and the Ghost Gym. Veilstone, carved literally out of steep, stony mountains, is fairly isolated; its main features are the Game Corner, Fighting Gym, and Galactic Headquarters. Canalave is a port city bisected by a canal; it has an air of exotic and foreign culture, and large ships are moored at the piers. It has the Steel Gym and a vast library. Sunyshore is built on a narrow cape; to make up for the lack of space, it has criss-crossing roads and walkways and is powered by solar panels. It features the Electric Gym and Vista Lighthouse.

Twinleaf is where Sinnoh's new adventures often begin; the fresh scent of new leaves is in the air. Sandgem is right against the sandy sea shore; Professor Rowan's lab is the main landmark. Once a barren and desolate hill, Floaroma was blessed by Shaymin and is now known for its honey, berries and the vivid flowers that grow everywhere. Solaceon is a community with many farmers and ranchers who enjoy its temperate climate and laidback lifestyle. The Day Care is here, and the Solaceon Ruins are found at its far east. Pastoria was originally founded to protect the Great Marsh, and hosts the region's swampy Safari Zone plus the Water Gym. Celestic is a tiny town that preserves the history and mythology of Sinnoh and the old ways of life. Coronet is the central landmark of Sinnoh, and is so massive it cuts the region in two. The Great Marsh is a large area that is almost constantly subject to rain and is now considered to be a 'wetland.' Lake Verity, Lake Valor, and Lake Acuity are the three sacred lakes of the Sinnoh region that are home to the legendary trio Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit. Lake Verity lies in the south-west, Lake Valor the south-east, and Lake Acuity is in the northern point of Sinnoh. The fourth lake of Sinnoh is Sendoff Spring which contains Turnback Cave and located near Lake Valor, and is most famous for being the spot where Giratina opened the portal to the Distortion World. Sinnoh's Underground is an extensive maze of tunnels that reach under the entire region, where people with the proper tools can go down and dig in and find unique treasures. Hotel Grand Lake is a resort by Lake Valor that is made up of different bungalows that tourists can rent and stay in. A sub-region of Sinnoh located on a separate island northeast of the region's mainland. It consists of three main settlements. The Fight Area is a small port town built around the Battle Frontier, which has five different facilities. The Survival Area, based at the foot of the rugged mountains and surrounded by thick jungle and steep cliffs, is where Trainers gather to work out and hone their battling skills. The Resort Area is a miniature paradise centered around Coordinators and Contests, allowing Trainers and their Pokémon a chance to respite. Stark Mountain is part of a range that consists of an active volcano; the journey up it is considered to be a gruelling test of skill, while inside it is even more perilous, its enormous, seething caverns formed by gaping fissures in hardened lava. Heatran lives at its core.

Nacrene was established in restored storehouses built 100 years ago; this cityscape makes it a popular place for avant-garde artists and is usually the place where trends begin. The former Normal gym and Museum are here. Castelia is Unova's biggest city, a cultural melting pot with skyscrapers piercing the clouds and a huge amount of hustle and bustle. The Bug Gym is here. Nimbasa is the city of leisure and entertainment, with the Musical Theatre, Big Stadium, Small Court, theme park, and Electric Gym. Driftveil is a port town that distributes many goods, and its Ground Gym Leader has made it financially successful. Mistralton is famous for its vegetable-growing and its airport, which imports and exports cargo across Unova and beyond. It includes the Flying Gym. Icirrus's buildings are located on high ground due to the surrounding swamps and lakes that freeze in winter. The former Ice Gym is here. Opelucid, peculiarly, appears to be split in time; some see it as technologically advanced, to others it is historical and natural. The Dragon Gym is here. Black City is a modern city of ongoing development that draws people to it. Virbank, always thick with either clouds, smoke or pollution, houses the Poison Gym and is a port city with many hangars, docks and waterways. The Dreamyard is an abandoned plant site that has now become a bit overgrown, and is often used as a play area for children and Pokemon. Pinwheel Forest is a large forest that contains the Moss Rock, with a large tree at the center of it and a path winding through it. Liberty Garden is actually an island off the south-west coast of Unova, and is the known home to the legendary Pokemon Victini. Desert Resort is a large desert in the middle of the region--there is always a sandstorm blowing, and it contains the Relic Castle. The Relic Castle is now maze-like, because it is simply the remains of a city from over 2,000 years ago. The Lostlorn Forest is a small forest area in central Unova. Chargestone Cave is a cave in west Unova that has strange magnetic qualites that not only cause some rocks to float (and must be pushed out of one's way if they wish to continue on) but also seems to be the place where a trainer can evolve their Magneton into Magnezone and Nosepass into Probopass. Twist Mountain is a large mine located near Iccirus City containing a network large network of tunnels and caves; it also includes the Icy Rock. Dragonspiral Tower is located in the north-west part of Unova, is oldest tower in Unova history, and is the place where Reshiram and Zekrom are known to reside. Victory Road is located in the northern part of Unova and is very much like a mountain with multiple floors and paths that connect the floors. The Giant Chasm is a doomed area that was created by a large meteor that landed in Unova; it is known to be the spot where one can see many rare Pokemon, including legendaries. The Abundant Shrine is located in the eastern part of Unova, and is a forest-like area that also contains a very distinct shrine in the middle. It is rumored to be the spot to find the Forces of Nature. Reversal Mountain is located in eastern Unova, and it is the mountain where the legendary Hetran came to cool down. Having the region's Bug Gym, many beginning Trainers gather in the friendly, traditional city of Santalune to kick off their journeys. Lumiose is dazzling metropolis of art and artifice; countless cafes, specialty stores, and Sycamore's Lab are found here. Its Electric Gym doubles as the city's Prism Tower. Cyllage is nestled between the cliffs and the sea, overlooked by steep Bicycle racecourses and the Rock Gym. Shalour is the seaside home of the Fighting Gym and the Tower of Mastery, where the legends of mysterious stones are studied. Coumarine is an exclusive resort area with temperate weather where bay and butte are bound, and these two sections can only be traversed by a railcar. The Grass Gym is at the upper reaches. Laverre is an unearthly city that seems to belong in fairytale, inspired by the mysterious and ancient tree at its centre which currently houses the Fairy Gym. Anistar's key feature is a massive, enigmatic sundial which shines mystical rays across the region every evening. The Psychic Gym is found here. Snowbelle's frozen state is caused by the cold air that constantly flows out of its Ice Gym.

Blooming buds covered in mountain dew exude hope for the future in Kalos's southern town, Vaniville. Just north of Vaniville is Aquacorde, which naturally sprang into being as people flocked to the pristine riverside. Camphrier, cobblestoned and stately, was once famous for its long-neglected manor, Shabboneau. Ambrette is a seaside township that was known only for its aquarium until the discovery of rare Fossils really put it on the map. Geosenge, lined with mysterious stones and encircled by strange ruins of old, is where the ultimate weapon lays beneath the earth. Dendemille is where Pokémon and windmills work together to farm the land in a chilly latitude. Couriway's main feature is its majestic waterfalls, and the railway brings visitors from great distances to see them.
